Daljit S. & Elaine Sarkaria Lectureship & Quality Day
Please join us for Quality Improvement Day 2025 (access registration)! Hosted by the Quality Improvement Program in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at DGSOM, this year’s event focuses on "Building Trust in Medical AI" and will take place virtually on February 28, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. PST via Zoom. Dr. Ziad Obermeyer will kick off the day with the Daljit S. and Elaine Sarkaria Keynote Lecture, "(Machine) Learning from Ground Truth: How to Focus AI on What Matters," exploring how AI in healthcare can improve by learning from patient outcomes rather than biased human decision-making.
Following the keynote, join expert-led workshops on DEI in AI and pathology and building trust in AI/ML through transparency and interpretability. The day will conclude with trainee presentations showcasing innovations in real-time genomic surveillance, immunogenetics, and intraoperative pathology assessment.
