What types of financial assistance are available to the genetic counseling students?

All students enrolled in the UCLA Master of Science in Genetic Counseling program receive program-specific financial assistance. 

 

  • Track A Fellowship (partial tuition: merit) + other financial assistance opportunities
  • Track B Fellowship (partial tuition: merit & Equity Diversity and Inclusion) + other financial assistance opportunities

 

The amount is based on the Fellowship Track. The Personal Statement will be used to consider candidates for the Track B Fellowship. Candidates offered an interview will receive specific details about the Fellowship Tracks and other financial assistance opportunities.

 

Other fellowship opportunities at UCLA include Graduate Opportunity Fellowships (GOFP) to cover non-PDST tuition/fees in the first year and Graduate Council Diversity Fellowships to cover non-PDST tuition/fees in the second year. UCLA students can also apply to Teaching Assistantships and Graduate Student Research positions.  For additional information about Financial Aid and Scholarships click here.

 

To date:

  • 30% of the UCLA genetic counseling students have been awarded a Graduate Opportunity Fellowship award
  • 20% of the UCLA genetic counseling students have accepted Teaching Assistantships for at least one quarter
  • 30% of the UCLA genetic counseling students have received Graduate Student Researcher positions for at least one quarter.
