UCLA Campus Real Estate is responsible for the review and analysis of all off-campus requests for leased space. Departments are required to submit a Department Authorization for Lease (DAF) to the DGSOM Controller's Office for review prior to approval by the Senior Associate Dean of Finance and Administration and the Dean. The DGSOM Controller's Office will work with department leadership and UCLA Real Estate to review the business need, preferred location, required term, the approximate size of the space needed and the proposed funding source prior to submitting the approved authorization to UCLA Health Real Estate.
Please reach out to the DGSOM Controller's Office prior to submitting requests.
Administrative Office/Research Space
The DGSOM Controller's Office supports the review and approval of Administrative Office and Research related leased space. Typical turnaround is approximately 2 weeks and includes review of availability of funding, proper funding source, business need, availability of space on campus, type of use, term, and any additional requirements provided by the requesting unit. A DGSOM specific DAF should be submitted to the contact listed below along with all relevant documentation and explanation of funding.
Departments must submit a completed DAF, confirmation that no space is available on campus, a summary of prior year funding with award snapshots for future funding (research space only), and a detailed description of what the space is being used to the contact email listed below.
Medical Office Space
Authorization for the lease of Medical Office space should be submitted to the Faculty Practice Group (FPG) for review.
Please contact Charles Lamoreaux, firstname.lastname@example.org, for questions regarding these topics.
