Probiotic Intervention Study
Arpana Gupta, PhD, and Tien Dong MD, PhD, G. Oppenheimer Center for Neurobiology of Stress and Resilience, are conducting a study on a combination probiotic in adults with obesity. The purpose of this study is to reintroduce missing beneficial bacteria to the gut microbiome of adults with obesity. The result of this study will provide novel information about possible interventions that may help reduce the prevalence of obesity, food addictions, and related health problems.
You may be eligible if you are:
- Ages 18-50
- Overweight or obese
- Male or female
- Not pregnant or nursing
Study participation consists of:
- Taking a dietary supplement once daily for 3 months
- Three (3) in-clinic visits
- Three (3) stool samples
- Three (3) blood samples
- Cognitive stress testing
- Calorie restriction diet
- Online questionnaires about diet and mood
- Optional brain MRI at baseline and final 3-month
Compensation:
- Earn up to $150 (up to $200 if you choose to participate in the MRIs)
